Collection of personal information

Some portions of this web site may require you to give your personally identifiable information such as your name and e-mail address.  If you choose to give us this personally identifiable information, we will use it to deliver the service you requested and we may also use it to update your membership information.

We will ask you for your contact information and signed consent to contact you when you attend one of our talks.  You have the right to withdraw your consent to being contacted by the Society at any time by giving one weeks notice in writing to the Committee or its officer.  If you cease to be a member of the History Society, we will remove your contact information.

Information Sharing

If you have given your written consent, we will contact you occasionally by e-mail to publicise our talks and events and to keep you up to date with information about the Society.  We may also send you newsletters from time to time.  If you would prefer that we didn’t use your information in this way, then please let us know.

If you have booked to go on one of our trips, we may use your phone number to contact you with important information regarding the trip.  If you would prefer that we didn’t use your information in this way, then please let us know.

We take your privacy very seriously and we will not share your information with any third party.  Your information will only be accessible  to members of the Committee for the purposes of carrying out their duties to the Driffield History Society.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  In the unlikely event of your information being hacked, or any other security breach, we will inform you by email that this has happened.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please e-mail us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Photographs

We like to take photographs of our events.  These will be added to our website and will also be offered to local newspapers to promote our Society.  If you would prefer your image not to be used for these purposes, then please make sure that you stand behind the camera and out of shot when any photographs are being taken otherwise your consent to the use of photographs for these purposes will taken as given.  If you happen to find yourself inadvertently in a photograph on our website and would like the photograph to be removed, then please let us know and it will be removed.  All images taken by us are subject to copyright.

Our website  contains links to other websites of interest.  However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website.
