The Society exists to promote all aspects of history to the people of Driffield and the surrounding area. We encourage our membership to explore local, national and world history, through regular social events, talks and visits to historical sites.
We meet at 7.15pm for 7.30pm on the second Thursday of every month (except August) at the Access Centre, Exchange Street (Driffield Cinema) in Driffield. The talks normally last two hours, concluding at 9.30pm. Admission is £2 for members and £5 for non members. This may be reviewed at the 2019 AGM. A raffle for a bottle of wine is normally held at each talk in aid of History Society funds.
Disabled access and toilet facilities are available. Each talk has a tea and coffee break half way served by the kitchen. Parking nearby is freely available.
Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome. We ask you to contact us if you wish to bring a minor.
Our meetings are advertised each week in the Driffield and Wolds Weekly newspaper and our Facebook site.
